A Snowy Day
Last night in Rexburg it snowed a foot of snow last night (facts according to Mike). We have been waiting for snow like this for a whole year! The boys and Mike couldn't wait to get out in it and were out shoveling this morning morning by 7:45.
After lunch we were back outside...building a snow cave that was turned into a slide, making snow ice cream (vanilla-rootbeer!,
snow angels, and snow brick walls to play human "birdy games".
We learned that today in 1887 the largest snowflakes were recorded...15 inches wide by 8 inches thick. We didn't endeavor to make 8 inch thick snowflakes but Dallin and I made 15 inch wide ones. Dallin LOVES to makes snowflakes...he could cut all day.

Sleepless Nights
I have a confession! I ate Dreyer"s chocolate ice cream last night! I don't eat sugar! Well, I did last night. I believe I am paying my price. I have been up since 12:30 this morning and my eyes are not drooping. My body seems to be really sensitive to the things I eat. I need to work on staying hydrated as well. I don't think I sleep well when I have not had enough water the day before. Exercise is a key factor too, but who feels like working out when you have been up all night? Even though I HATE sleepless nights, in a way I really enjoy them because I am all alone. My husband and two boys are sweetly sleeping and I can do whatever I want...well kind of...not really. I really want to do work on sewing projects, but that's probably too loud. I decided I would start a blog and make my posts on sleepless nights. I try to not get on the computer when I can't sleep, but it is usually inevitable.
I homeschool my two boys, 5 and 2, and I have been feelings an ache inside to spend more time outside. It is beginning to get cold here in Idaho so the desire to go out is beginning to dwindle. But I notice that when I don't go outside I feel rather down and out. It was my birthday a last Sunday and I was looking for some books that would be fun to order. I came across this book, and decided to make a resolution to go outside with the children everyday, no matter the weather!
